Great place to dive. Visibility today (2024.08.31) was good. From 246ft you can see the whole wreck. Trimix is a must, rebreather better. Lights are a must too. Water temp during Aug is OK, with a semidry is more than enough. If you like diving, you will like it a lot.

Site Description

A deep wreck only for technical divers. Hypoxic trimix is a must for this wreck. The costal freighter has quite a few years underwater and as such its structure may have week spots. Given its depth, this wreck is inmune to surface conditions and fortunately for tec divers, the wreck is mostly intact.

Penetration is possible into the cargo holds and inside the superstructure.

This wreck sits right on the "cliff" of Florida coast. As such, divers can see the steep slope - there is at least 15 feet depth difference at the sand level between the bow and the stern of this wreck.

Large pelagic are common resident in this wreck: pompanos and jacks call this place home. Unfortunately, so does the invasive lion fish, which is commonly found in this wreck too.

Route

Bottom time for this site will be limited. Divers are encourage to do a lap around the wreck to get the highlights of both the bow and stern. There are a couple of lines "floating" in mid water that give this wreck a "ghosty and spooky" look.

Typical Conditions

Although conditions are for the most time favorable in this site, visibility can be reduce to zero if currents are strong and heading north. Typical visibility ranges from 30 to 60 feet.

Wreck History

Not much is known about the history of this wreck.
