Site Description

This site is the result of an old sewer piper that used to discharge waste in the ocean. Unfortunately, divers have reported seeing this sewer pipe still discharging waste in 2024. Engineers cut a 10 feet deep trench on the seafloor to allow the pipe to run west to east trough the Florida 3rd reef line (also known as Florida outer reef).

The trench offers shelter to a variety of tropical fish.

Route

Divers should navigate this site following the trench walls that run west to east. Local operators usually run this dive as an anchor dive, so divers will be asked to return to the starting point of the dive.

Typical Conditions

Current vary in this site. Although they can be strong, the trench itself offer good shelter for divers. Visibility is usually good in this site.
