Site description

Breakers Shallow Reef, also known as “Breakers Shallows,” is a delightful spot for snorkeling and shallow diving. It lies just off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida. The reef is characterized by its vibrant coral formations, colorful fish, and crystal-clear waters. Snorkelers and divers can explore the shallow depths (around 10-15 feet) to observe marine life such as parrotfish, angelfish, and sergeant majors. Keep an eye out for the occasional sea turtle gliding gracefully through the water!

Route & typical conditions

Route

Access to this reef may be difficult from the beach given that most ocean front properties are part of closed gated communities. Still, the swim to the reef is not minor: divers will need to swim around 2000 feet to reach the ledge. Always carry a dive flag.

Typical conditions

Visibility can range from 30 to 60 feet in a good day. Currents are very mild in this shallow site.
