Site description

Loggerhead is a captivating dive site in the Palm Beach area of Florida. Let me share some details about it. The location of Loggerhead is relatively shallow but expansive, stretching up to half a mile in length. It’s a popular choice for divers, often selected as the second dive during two-tank trips. Unlike other sites with prominent ledges, Loggerhead offers a unique mix of features. Alongside a lower-profile ledge, you’ll find coral heads creating mini-ecosystems. Some sandy areas provide excellent opportunities to spot Southern rays, Yellowhead jawfish, and even Mantis shrimp. Loggerhead lives up to its name by hosting a variety of sea turtles. Gigantic Loggerhead turtles may be napping under the ledge at nearly ninety feet, while Hawksbill turtles are often seen feeding between cracks and crevices. These little Hawksbill turtles are quite tolerant and allow close observation. As you drift north on this relaxing dive, keep an eye out for Green turtles and other fascinating creatures. The site also features Southern stingrays, Goliath groupers, and schools of Atlantic spadefish. You never know what Mother Nature has in store, making Loggerhead a mystery adventure every time. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or just starting out, Loggerhead promises a memorable underwater experience.
