Site description

Toppino's Buoy, also known as Toppino's Reef or Marker Reef #32, is a beautiful dive site located about 4.5 miles south of the Boca Chica Channel near Key West. This reef is known for its stunning shallow waters, with depths reaching up to 25 feet, making it an ideal spot for snorkelers and divers of all experience levels. The reef is adorned with towering coral formation, including the impressive pillar coral, which attracts a variety of colorful tropical fish. One of the unique features of Toppino's Buoy is its navigation marker, which has a light, making it a popular site for night diving. The clear waters and good visibility allow divers to enjoy the vibrant marine life and coral formations even after the sun goes down. The site is home to numerous fish species, including parrotfish, angelfish, and butterflyfish, as well as other marine creatures like lobsters and crabs. Toppino's Buoy is part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, ensuring its protection and preservation for future generations. Whether you're looking for a relaxing snorkel or an adventurous dive, Toppino's Buoy offers a unique and beautiful underwater experience that showcases the natural beauty of the Florida Keys.
