Site description

Turtle Mound, a substantial dome-shaped reef, lies at the northern tip of Breakers North. It is separated from the main ledge by a sandy expanse approximately 100 feet (30.5 meters) wide. Both sites are highly esteemed as some of the best dive locations in Palm Beach County, making them particularly favored by local dive operators.

Route & typical conditions

Route

Operators will often conduct this site as a drift dive. Given the small size of the site, operators may choose to drop divers south of this site (somewhere in the Breakers North reef or even further south at the Trench) and allow them to drift to finish the dive in this site.

Typical conditions

Same conditions as for the Breakers reef: good visibility and strong currents should be expected in this site.
