Site description
n the 1920s, a trench was carved into the reef to facilitate a waste discharge pipe. Today, this trench no longer serves its original purpose and has become an excellent spot for night diving. The seabed lies at a depth of 48 feet, while the trench itself plunges to 60 feet. Spanning approximately 15 to 20 feet in width, this underwater passage is teeming with tropical fish, eels, lobsters, and the sporadic shark. Oriented along an east-west axis, it offers a unique underwater experience.
Route & typical conditions
Route
Dive boats will typically park using a temporary anchor line deployed to an old column that used to hold the drainage pipe. The trench is pretty simple to navigate as it runs west to east. There is enough shelter if currents happen to be strong. For the advanced divers visiting the site, there is an statue of a Buddha at the end of the trench in the south ledge.
Typical conditions
Conditions are typically good in this site. Currents vary a lot, but in general divers should expect north currents.
