Site description

Officially called "Boynton Overhangs", Gazebo Reef, located off Boynton Beach’s outer reef, is a popular scuba diving site. It begins where Briny Breezes ends and features a double ledge. The western side consists of rock and rubble, while the eastern side turns slightly eastward, leading to an area known as Pit Stop. At the northwest end, you’ll find rock formations jutting out to the west, aptly named Castle Ledge. It’s an excellent spot for underwater photography, especially with the large schools of fish. When navigating, start a little north of Briny Breezes for a north current, or begin at Castle Ledge for a south current, following the main two ledges

Route & typical conditions

Route

To navigate Gazebo Reef effectively, begin slightly north of Briny Breezes if you’re aiming for a northward current. Alternatively, if you prefer a southward current, start your dive at Castle Ledge. Follow the main two ledges for an exciting underwater experience!

Typical conditions

Strong currents and good visibility go hand to hand in this site - and so they do in most sites in Boynton Beach. Currents shall be expected around 2 to 3 knots and visibility above 50 feet (and as good as 100 feet in occasions).
