Site description

This is a rarely dove site. Operators may not have regular trips set to this location and for a good reason: the end of the reef ends at the Port Everglades canal. This makes it a complicated site to dive, because of the heavy traffic this inlet has. The reef is beautiful and has typical spurs and groove formations in the deep east end. Marine life is abundant although erosion on the coral is more evident in this site than others near by.

Route & typical conditions

Route

This reef is rarely done in a heavy north current to avoid divers crossing the Port Everglades canal. In a south current, divers will jump into the water in the north end and drift their way south, for then be picked up by the dive operator.

Typical conditions

Conditions can vary in this site. Its proximity to the inlet makes this site a real gamble in occasions.
