Site description

Discover an exceptional dive site with three horseshoe-shaped re-entrants in the reef. Encounter grouper, snapper, large moray eels, trumpet fish, and spotted drums. Keep an eye out for abundant small barracuda. The eastern side of the ledge also boasts impressive formations.

Route & typical conditions

Route

Navigating through coral reefs can indeed be challenging, especially when the reef edge twists and turns like a sinuous snake. On the northern end, you’ll encounter large horseshoe-shaped cutouts that create interesting undercut ledges. To navigate effectively, follow the reef edge until it begins to taper off. Then, adjust your course slightly eastward and double back along the eastern edge.

Typical conditions

Conditions vary in this site. Given its proximity to the Hillsboro inlet, low tide brings sediments that may reduce visibility. Currents are typically very mild in this site.
