Site description

Lost Ledge is a fascinating dive site located off the coast of Pompano Beach in Miami. This reef runs parallel to the shoreline just south of Hillsboro Inlet and features a series of east and west-facing ledges, along with rock mounds that can add an element of confusion. Despite its navigational challenges, divers tend to enjoy exploring Lost Ledge. Lobster divers, in particular, appreciate this reef, especially on rough days. So, if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out! 🌊🦞.

Route & typical conditions

Route

When diving at Lost Ledge, consider the current direction: North Current: You have flexibility and can start anywhere toward the south end. South Current: Begin at the north hook for the best experience. Given the wide expanse of the outer reef, utilizing a zigzag pattern along with the current can be advantageous.

Typical conditions

Conditions can vary in this site - its proximity to the inlet makes it hard to predict. In Typical north currents, visibility tends to be really good in this site; while south current (in combination with low tide) may present murky visibility.
