Site description

Tongue of the Reef is a beautiful site in the same system as Gulfstream ledge. Tons or marine life are present in this site specially in the west facing ledge. Lobster hunters have this reef as a local favorite. The ledge has an average relief of 10 feet.

Route & typical conditions

Route

No specific route is suggested other than staying close to the ledge. This dive is always conducted as a drift given the strong currents present in the area.

Typical conditions

Visibility tends to be really good in this site, ranging from 40 to 80 feet (averaging 60 feet). Currents can be ripping (2 to 3 knots). Local divers are used to diving in this conditions - and so are operators in the area.
