Site description

This site lays a couple of hundred feet north to the St. Henry in proximity to the Tortuga. Although it's not the most abundant in marine life, it tends to congregate a good amount of it. Divers may find stingrays swimming close to the sand in this site. Penetrations is possible in this site, although the spaces are tight. Much of the superstructure is still there and it offers a very nice swims through for divers that are not certified for penetration.

Route & typical conditions

Route

Divers will often find the wreck coming from the south (coming from the St. Henry). There is a thick rope that guides the path from the St. Henry to the Betek. Divers shall swim a couple of laps around the wreck to get a sense of what it has to offer. Then attempt penetration if qualified. Keep in mind that if conducting this as a drift dive, divers may be reaching the non-decompression limit and shall keep a close eye to that before getting into deco. There is a barge east to this site that offers very little to explore. There is no need to use a scooter to visit the Tortuga, St, Henry and Betek all in one dive. They are all in close proximity and divers may swim across them.

Typical conditions

Currents are typically strong in this site, but with it comes the good visibility that this site often has.
