Site description

Dixie Devil reef is located off the coast of Pompano Beach and part of the outer reef system in Florida. This site is the north part of the site called "Mark's Ledge" and a loca favorite for dive operators. The topology of this site is similar to many other reefs in the are with a west facing ledge and reef fingers toward the east - deepest part. Just west to the site, there is a sandy hole - locally know as "the hole" that goes down to 90 feet deep. Marine life is abundant in this site, divers shall expect to see many tropical fish.

Route & typical conditions

Route

Usually done as a drift dive. Divers can start visiting the hole and then swim east to find the reef ledge - and shallow part of the reef.

Typical conditions

Conditions are typically good in this site. Visibility can range from 40 to 70 feet and currents are often mild.
