Site description

This tugboat sits upright in 70 feet of water in the coast of Dania Beach in Broward County. The dive site is an spectacular wreck that invites novice and advance divers alike. Her bow points north. This wreck is often full of life. Big schools of baitfish, tropical fish and groupers are common in this site. There is a resident Goliath grouper that roams between this site and the smaller wrecks in the area. Penetration is possible in this wreck for those with the right training.

Route & typical conditions

Route

Divers are encourage to explore the outside of the wreck first and then try either swim throughs or actual penetration of the wheelhouse and lower level decks. The interior of the wreck still has a few cabinets and other artifacts that can be easily be recognized. To the south of this wreck lays the Eben-Ezer-II. Local divers have buried a set of rebars on the sand every 30 feet that guide the path. Divers may also swim west to find a flat reef and then follow the contour to the north to find the wrecks of the Captain Dede and some other smaller wrecks in the area.

Typical conditions

Although this wreck sits very near a reef, general visibility is good - ranging from 40 to 70 feet. Current are often mild and heading north.
