Site description

In 1988, a total of 19 steel and concrete radio towers were intentionally sunk. These pyramids now rest in 50 feet of water, with each rising about 20 feet from the seabed. The site is located near other wrecks, including the Miss Patricia and Miss Karline, as well as artificial reefs like the Rock Pile. The large and smaller concrete blocks from the towers have fostered an environment where juvenile fish thrive, finding ample food and breeding opportunities. However, divers should be aware that the antennas from these submerged towers can still interfere with compass readings, making it a popular training site for navigational skills.

Route & typical conditions

Route

This site is usually done as a drift dive. Coming from the north (Patricia or Karleen) on a south current (rare). Typically, divers will drift from the south starting at the Matthew Lawrence memorial reef to hover over the Radio Towers and end up in the above mentioned wrecks.

Typical conditions

Conditions are ofter good. Although for a drift dive, current tend to be mild.
