ReefGuard and Give Miami Day.
Give Miami Day (GMD) is November 19th this year, with early giving starting on November 14th.
This is a great opportunity to support the work of the Miami-Dade Reef Guard Association and help protect and enhance the marine environment that makes South Florida such a special place to live, boat, fish and dive.
During the Give Miami Day giving period, donations to Reef Guard can have an even greater impact through the program offered by the Miami Foundation.

Protecting Miami-Dade’s reefs
Miami-Dade Reef Guard is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing our local marine environment. The organization was founded in 2009, at a time when the reef adjacent to Miami-Dade County had no mooring buoys available to boaters.
Through the support of local dive shops, public donations, Miami-Dade County and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, 42 mooring buoys were installed by 2012. Today, the buoy program is fully funded and managed by Miami-Dade County, and 54 buoys are maintained along the reef from the Broward County line south to the northern boundary of Biscayne National Park.
Reef Guard continues its mission by supporting artificial reef deployment and natural reef conservation in the waters adjacent to Miami-Dade County.
Why your support matters
Artificial reefs can provide additional habitat for marine organisms and can help reduce some of the pressure placed on natural reefs by divers. Better documentation of these sites can also help people understand and appreciate the remarkable underwater resources found right here in Miami-Dade County.
Your contribution helps Reef Guard continue advocating for our reefs, supporting artificial reef projects, promoting conservation and engaging the South Florida diving and boating communities in protecting the marine environment.
Make your Give Miami Day donation count.
